Dave Elman developed this Induction during his time in vaudeville. This Induction should be viewed as a PROCESS; it definitely should not be considered a 'script'. If students understand that individual procedures should be followed in the order given, but that variations to fit the natural speech pattern of the hypnotist are encouraged, then the speed, reliability, and effectiveness of this method are assured.
